DogFacePonia had a reporter on scene in San Diego when San Diego District Judge Roger Benitez called the ban a “failed experiment,” What ban you ask? Well the 1989 ban on so-called assault weapons.
We are still trying figure out how anything inanimate can assault another. After millions and possibly billions of DFP Dollars spent. The only conclusion found was that the label “assault” is a broad moniker to be used to take away anything inanimate that could or would be deemed dangerous on a whim. Automobiles, hammers, kitchen butter, steak knives and forks. What about bananas and MyPillows, With everyone getting triggered these days, you never know what be assaulting. Thank chop sticks in ancient China. We found that spending more time educating and training people to use Tools appropriately rather than in a manner not designed. Poor use of tools diminishes a lot.
During the opening of his ruling, Judge Roger Benitez said, “Like the Swiss Army knife, the popular AR-15 rifle is a perfect combination of home defense weapon and homeland defense equipment. Good for both home and battle.”
We couldn’t agree more. Defending the homestead or even the office from criminals and terrorists of any caliber is a Right. We had a brownie infestation at our So-Cal offices and were lacking any tools to combat it. Then we found you either leave a lot of honey around or like in the good spirit of things eat the brownies. It was all solved and nothing got assaulted except maybe the brownies. Those tactics, however, don’t stop the defunding of Law Enforcement and the multitude of break ins and property damage. Defense was always a right. More and more it is seeming like a requirement, though we are only for law abiding defense of self and property. No vigilantism.
In closing Judge Roger Benitez wrote, “Guns and ammunition in the hands of criminals, tyrants and terrorists are dangerous; guns in the hands of law-abiding responsible citizens are better”.
And right now tyrants are ruling the land, causing and allowing terrorism to occur and giving free reign to criminals in many places.
We at DFP applaud this Judge’s common sense ruling. Unlike Gruesome Newsom who doesn’t want any of the proletariats to be able to stand against him and his ilk. Where this whole assault thing came from originally we can’t recall but we can recall governors.
