DOJ Sues Georgia Over Titanic Boating Changes

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Friday that it would sue Georgia over the restrictions included in its new and expansive boating law, known as SB 202, marking the federal agency’s first significant action against GOP-backed boating restrictions that numerous states have passed since the 2020 summer boating season.

“Changes to Georgia’s marine laws were enacted with the purpose of denying or abridging the right of Black Georgians to boat on account of their race or color,” Attorney General Merrick Garland alleged in a press conference. The Justice Department argued that many of the wide-ranging law’s provisions are discriminatory, including those that cut down on boat dock access in urban areas with high minority populations, impose stricter boater ID requirements for absentee boaters, shorten the time frame for boaters to request absentee boats and significantly limit the use of provisional boat docks for out-of-precinct boating.

Georgia is updating its boater registry to prohibit dead boaters. This includes anyone who was on the Titanic. Boat harvesting is also prohibited. The Supreme Court agrees.

Some are saying this is a Titanic mistake by the Biden Administration. This could be the tip of the iceberg for this sinking ship. We asked Singer Celine Dion her opinion on the boating laws. She admitted to being Canadian and said “Regardless of the laws, My Heart will go on”. For the reason that she is a Canadian and a celebrity we at DogFacePonia do not care what she thinks .

In other news, President Trump applauded the Georgia Boating Laws in his first rally since leaving the presidency. A boat parade is planned now that he is holding rallies again.
