We at DogFacePonia support the research being done to determine the causes of aggression and violence. The causes and treatment of pathological aggression and violence are poorly understood and understudied.
In some individuals, repetitive acts of aggression are grounded in an underlying neurobiological susceptibility that is just beginning to be understood. The failure of top-down control systems in the prefrontal cortex to modulate aggressive acts that are triggered by anger provoking stimuli appears to play an important role. Is this top-down control system weaker in shorter people? Inquiring minds want to know.
While the underpinnings of human aggression are clearly multifactorial, including political, socioeconomic, cultural, medical, and psychological factors, it is also clear that some forms of pathological aggression, such as impulsive aggression (which occurs in the context of emotional arousal and provocation), have an underlying neurobiology that we are only beginning to understand. We want to have a scientific study of shortness as it applies to brutal dictatorship.
Brutal Dictators who are on the short list include:
Kim Jung Un 5’7”. Rumor is he has been boosted twice. President Trump called him little rocket man. His father Kim Jung Ill was only 5’3” and was a very successful brutal dictator.
Napoleon 5’6” Maybe that was his Waterloo. He too was short. He lost to Wellington in battle and in height.
Maximilien Robiespierre 5’3” suspended a suspect’s right to public trial and to legal assistance and left the jury a choice only of acquittal or death. The Great Terror followed with about 1,400 persons being executed by guillotine. He was himself later guillotined.
Attila the Hun was short in stature. Among many memorable quotes, Attila the Hun is remembered for saying of his powerful reign, “There, where I have passed, the grass will never grow again.”
Vlad the Impaler’s height was 5ft 6in. He is known to have had the bodies of his victims impaled on spikes for display, sometimes while they were still alive.
Stalin 5’4” ruled by terror, and millions of his own citizens died during his brutal reign.
Putin is estimated at 5’1” to 5’5” but no one has been able to measure it. Others say he is as tall as 5’7”
Zelenskyy is 5′ 6″
Putin has come up short in his special military operation. Perhaps this was because Zelenskyy is actually shorter than Putin. The staturally challenged become dictators but their defeat is at the hands of a taller leader. Most of the United States’ strongest leaders were tall. Zelenskyy appears to be an exception to this rule and Putin depended on the rule which may bring about his downfall. Putin may be shorter than Zelenskyy but until we can measure the outcome is still in doubt.
We at DogFacePonia believe it is notable that most brutal and violent dictators are short. This needs to be studied in depth. The saying the bigger they are the harder they fall may be backward or upside down. Do these leaders meet their downfall at the hands of taller leaders?
In other News, intensive research is being conducted to determine if these men are or ever were men. Women tend to be shorter on average than men, could they have been incorrectly assigned as men at birth by a biologist? Could it all be mental disorders? We hope to determine these answers for you but we are not even sure if a duck is a duck anymore we are not ornithologists.
