The White House said the recipients of the Medal of Freedom made “exemplary contributions to the prosperity, values, or security of the United States, world peace, or other significant societal, public or private endeavors.” Joe Biden gave Nancy Pelosi the Medal for being one of history’s greatest Speakers of the House. Greatness is in the eye of the beholder. Afterall, Al Gore got one too. This is probably because we are not all dead do to Climate Change like he said we would be. We at DogFacePonia don’t believe Biden would know greatness unless it was a flavor of ice cream. So we began to wonder about all the great things Nancy did in her tenure to deserve such an honor.
The most obvious would probably be the “great” amount of spending she did. By the time she stepped down nearly 40% of all US debt had been generated during her watch. To put this into perspective, the US has the largest economy in the world, during her 8 years as Speaker, expenditures averaged more than $1.5 Trillion per year. She was the chief money spender in history and it is not even close. The Roman emperor could not spend in a lifetime what she did in only 8 years as Speaker.
For those out there suggesting it was not her fault, we would argue that there certainly are many to blame. Still, the budget starts in the House and very little gets past a speaker’s desk without approval. The best part is few can point to the insane spending making their lives better in any measurable way. Americans do not seem to be richer, healthier, more racially unified, or safer. We are just trillions more in debt. We thought it might be fun to look at other achievements as well.

- Tore up Trump’s speech during State of the Union, a historical first.
- Normalized Botox cosmetic treatment
- Showed acceptance for husbands who get hammered both literally and figuratively
- Exemplary contribution to her family’s prosperity through significant private insider stock tips
- Her uncle avoided being eaten by cannibals
- Impeaching Trump twice is a historical first
- Refused Nation Guard on January 6th because it didn’t follow her script.
For the next Medal of why not just give it to the National Debt. Sure, it is just a number, but it keeps growing out of control, it deserves a reward for it’s hard work! If that is not possible, Maybe the US Treasury for all the endless spending and money printing. What says freedom more than condemning the next generation to be slaves to your debt?
